Cold Open And Movie News

SPEAKER_04

Welcome to the Lazy Critics Room. I'm Robbie. I'm Ashton Gage. And today, it's gonna get hot in here. We're gonna be doing some hot takes, but with a twist. I'm gonna get into that in a second. But we want to talk about some recent news that just came out in the past couple days. Y'all seen that I just got casted as Ghost Rider in the MCU. Let's go, let's go. Literally me. Yeah, yours truly is going to be Ghost Rider in the MCU, and I am more than thrilled. This is a long time coming.

SPEAKER_02

It's about time to have a Ghost Rider since Nicolas Cage. It's the first one since Nick Cage, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

It's about time. He's such a cool character. I know, yeah. It's about time, man.

SPEAKER_05

Ryan Gosslin, that's my guy. Project Hill Mary was fire this year. That man can act, man. I don't know. The only thing that he lacks is versatility.

SPEAKER_02

But except for that, he's pretty good. Except for that, he's pretty good. Were you serious? Hold on up. That's not even one of them.

SPEAKER_04

I don't know who Ryan Gosslin is, but I'm flatter. I'm flattered. Thank you. Okay, so uh first on the Oh wait, no, I'm forgetting fucking David Johnson.

SPEAKER_02

David Johnson has Black Chatter.

SPEAKER_04

I never in a million years expected this dude to get casted, but you know what? I'm fine with it. I was thinking Damson Idris. I was preferring Idris, but we'll see how David Johnson does. David Johnson, go watch the Lawn Walk if you haven't. He's magnificent. I still need to watch that. I know you watched it, bro. It can be honesty, right? Yeah. I was in school during that movie. We all saw Alien Romulus together. We know how good he was. He was great in that. He's gonna be great. I just really don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Damn Idris and F1, he was also really good. Oh yeah. No, Damson Idris is good in everything that he does. He just looks like T'Chala's son, man.

SPEAKER_04

I know, and I know that he was heartbroken when that shit was announced. Yeah. But okay, and last thing to get out of the way, Ashton, you just saw a new movie.

SPEAKER_05

So I don't know if anyone has AMC or if they're an A-lister at all, but I just went to do a screen unseen on Mondays. Every Monday's AMC does that. And finally, after 0 for 3 cold streak for the unseen screenings, I finally enjoyed my first one, and that was One Night Only with starring Callum Turner and Monica Barbero. Yes. Both amazing actors and actresses. It was an entertaining movie. Will Gluck, the director, made anyone but you. Golden movie. I love that. Hey, I think that that's probably his best movie that he's directed, and he's directed quite a few popular movies. I can't name any on the top of my head, but it was better than anyone but you.

SPEAKER_02

He had Easy A.

SPEAKER_05

Easy A, that's the other one. Yeah. Oh, that's a good one. He's really good at those freaking rom-com movies, and I really enjoyed it last night.

SPEAKER_04

A lot of sex in it, a lot of fun things going on, but the chemistry with those two and the romance story is just such a funny journey that they take, and it's just entertaining all the way around.

SPEAKER_02

What's up? What's y'all's favorite rom-com movie of all time? Oh fuck.

SPEAKER_05

Does when hen when Harry met Sally count as rom com?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, that's easily mine then. Damn. Are they strictly rom coms or are we meshing in like serious ones in there? That's fine, yeah. Yeah? Okay, that's easy. Eternal Sunshine is spotless one. Y'all already know my thoughts on that, on the biggest glazer on that movie.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, if we're if we're talking about just like romance movies in general, I gotta switch it up. I'm probably gonna go like La La Land or something. Lala Land or something in that room. Yeah, that's a fun thing.

SPEAKER_02

This romance, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Romance just has so many bangers.

SPEAKER_02

The notebook for I love the notebook so much. That's such a big comfort watch.

SPEAKER_04

It's such a great movie. It's not that great of a movie.

SPEAKER_02

It's a great movie.

SPEAKER_04

It's a fun watch. It's a fun.

SPEAKER_02

It is a great movie. Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling both did their thing. I cried at that plot twist in the end. I know a bunch of people predicted it. I didn't predict it.

SPEAKER_05

You know, Ryan Gosling is better in Blue Valentine, I feel like way better, and it's a way better movie, also, and way more sad.

SPEAKER_04

I fully agree. You need to be mentally prepared to watch that one. If you haven't watched Blue Valentine, go catch it. It is an emotional roller coaster. It's fucking pretty sad. Yeah.

BeanBoozled Rules And Flavor Dread

SPEAKER_04

But today we're gonna be focusing solely on hot takes. Film hot takes. But with a twist. We're gonna be adding bean boozle to the challenge, okay? So we're each gonna go one by one. We're gonna say a film hot take that we have that we genuinely believe in. It's not rage bait. And if any of us speak above an indoor voice or end up shouting, you gotta eat a bean. And that goes for anybody, the person giving the hot take or the person trying to get in on the discourse about what they said. Before we get into it, I'm gonna read off every single one of these and just give you all some perspective on what just why are we doing this? Okay, so we got burnt rubber or licorice, wet dog, or top, top banana.

SPEAKER_05

That sounds disgusting.

SPEAKER_04

Stinky socks or tootie fruity, toothpaste, or berry blue, barf or peach, stink bug, toasted marshmallow, booger, juicy pear. Oh my god, this debate was the worst. Old bandage or pomegranate. What the heck? Liver and onions or cappuccino.

SPEAKER_02

I don't even like coffee.

SPEAKER_04

And dead fish or strawberry banana smoothie. Oh brother. Oh my god. You might be cooked. We're so cooked. I tried the Tweedy Fruity or Stinky Socks one earlier, and I almost took up already. Yeah. We got the trash can ready right here. Yeah. Hopefully, nobody blows chunks.

SPEAKER_02

We're gonna try to swallow it, but no problems. Yeah. No problems. For sure, for sure. But no problems.

SPEAKER_04

You're the master rage baiterslash screamer here. All my tanks are valid. What are you talking about? You want to kick this off?

Spider-Man Suits And Majors Debate

SPEAKER_02

I will gladly kick it off. And I'm gonna start with the warm and then save the extra hot for last. This one y'all already well, no, I'm gonna start with this one. Actually, the amazing Spider-Man 2 suit is overrated. It's pretty mid. The Amazing Spider-Man 1 suit, I think, is better. Andrew Garfield in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit, it seems so baggy on him, and it does not look good. I don't like the white big eyes. I don't like the red and blue. It takes over too much, but but the red and blue for the first one, it was a little bit darker. So I do like that. Plus the green eyes, I know people hate on it. I really thought it was a nice touch, and I think it's more greeny. I don't like the main Spider-Man 2 suit that much. I prefer Tom Holland's suit over that one, and for sure Toby's and for sure Toby's Spider-Man 3 black one.

SPEAKER_04

I I don't agree or disagree. I'm not gonna lie. TASM 1 is great to me. TASM 2 I couldn't give less of a fuck about. It's got really highs in that movie, TASM 2. But the movie is horrendous. The writing is absolutely that opening that opening sequence when Andrew's Spider-Man is just casually having people fucking die. Watch a TikTok breakdown of that scene. It is absolutely crazy. It's a terrible Spider-Man movie. And it with that being said, I just couldn't care less.

SPEAKER_02

That's for sure my least favorite Spider-Man, live action movie, yeah. Or animated.

SPEAKER_04

For sure my least favorite. TASM, the TASM series, definitely has the best chemistry between the love interest and Spider-Man though. You know, I'll agree on that. I'll agree. When Stacy and Peter Parker is way better than MJ in both Toby McGuire, Spider-Man, and Tom Hollins.

SPEAKER_05

He still couldn't save me.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, but I'm just saying, I'm a nostalgic freak, man. I love me some Toby and Kirsten Dunce. Um they were kind of a bad couple, though.

SPEAKER_05

Can we talk about Bryce Dallas Howard in that?

SPEAKER_02

Bryce Dallas Howard has Gwen Stacy. Oh my goodness. Amazing, man. I would have left him JS.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah. Easily. Easy. I needed more of her.

SPEAKER_02

Oh absolutely. She was coming out the building. I would have saved her too.

SPEAKER_05

And shout out the girl that baked cookies for uh bully McGuire.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, yeah. Hey, you're owing.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. That's my first one. I guess we're starting off tame. Jonathan Majors. You all know who he is, what he did. But separating the art from the artist, Jonathan Majors was the real best actor of 2025. Sorry, Michael B. Jordan. Go watch Magazine Dreams starring Jonathan Majors.

SPEAKER_02

Magazine Dreams came out. Acting performance of 2025. It didn't come out in 25. It came out in 2020.

SPEAKER_04

I don't care. It was theatrically released in 2025. And if we're judging solely based on that, he is the best acting performance of 2025.

SPEAKER_01

That movie was fired. Magazine Dreams over Marty Supreme? His performance. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

His performance? Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_05

I'd say he had the best performance.

SPEAKER_02

And the movie, I think it was better too.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I don't know about that one. This is a D1 Marty Supreme hater right here. I don't know about that.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, the movie's cool, but it's just Magazine Dreams is what do you have out of five for me?

SPEAKER_04

Four and a half Magazine Dreams?

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

I wouldn't put it that high. I wrote a whole essay at that. I gave it a three and a half, I think. I think I gave it a three and a half also. Three and a half? Three and a half is high. Three and a half is five.

SPEAKER_02

It's not high. No, it's not high.

SPEAKER_04

But hey, yeah, I like Magazine Dreams a lot, and Jonathan Majors had a great performance in it. When he was at that dinner table with the girl he was going on a date with, and this dude can't talk for shit the entire movie, but when he starts talking about his passion, he starts spitting, bro. I know, I know.

SPEAKER_02

He was completely valid showing up the person like who beat him up his table at the restaurant and then calling out his kid and him in front of his wife and kids, and then the the person that beat him up tried playing victim. No, no, no, no, no. I love that majors confronted him.

SPEAKER_04

That that scene when he's in the grocery store and he's asking out that girl, bro. I couldn't relate to him more. I'm not gonna cat, bro. Sometimes I can't find my words and I can't talk for shit. And he, I don't know, I resonated with him in that. I was damn. That was pretty intense. I can't even lie. Yeah. Alright, I guess I'm

Oscar Talk And Chalamet Backlash

SPEAKER_04

up. Yep. Alright. So for my hot take. Of last year, the best movie was Hammond.

SPEAKER_00

You're not mad at it.

SPEAKER_04

Not mad at it. Really? Okay. That was my number two. That was my number two or three. That was your number two? Frick. I thought that would get y'all, I'm not gonna lie. Really? Huh?

SPEAKER_02

I love Hamlet.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, it is a fire movie. I saw it four times in the theater. I cried three times.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_04

That's a challenge in itself. Four times.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, well, if we're talking about last year, then Marty Supreme was a better movie than Sinners. What's up? What's up, Gage? What's up?

SPEAKER_04

What up, bro? Marty Supreme was a good one. Marty Supreme was a I disagree, but I love both of them. He thinks Marty Supreme is severely overrated. I know he feels stronger than me. I wouldn't actually, not way better, but it was like better. Just an overall movie. Acting.

SPEAKER_02

More specifically.

SPEAKER_04

Acting. Acting for sure.

SPEAKER_05

Sinners had Timothy got snubbed.

SPEAKER_02

Sinners had three people nominated. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

And one of them definitely shouldn't have been nominated. Who?

SPEAKER_04

You already know who I'm gonna say. Say it. Delroy Linda, whatever his name is. I agree. Why do you think that? I love you, Delroy. You're a great actor. Barely in the movie, I feel like. And all he said, all his performance was was just short comedic takes. You know who should have been above him? Thomas Calvin. Thomas Cal and Hammond.

SPEAKER_05

I agree. And that is the truth. You know that too. But you know Timothy should not have won for that. He did it. He did it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, but he deserved at least. No, he should have been.

SPEAKER_04

He should have been MBJ.

SPEAKER_02

What do you think, Robin?

SPEAKER_04

No, I here's the thing. When it comes to Timmy and Michael B. Jordan as far as last year, I'm I was really happy for Michael B. Jordan, I'm not gonna lie. It's hard for me to be mad at it. I thought for sure Timmy was gonna win.

SPEAKER_05

But I almost put the Calci bet on that.

SPEAKER_04

I low-key have an underrated opinion. For the lack of a better word, I don't know. But I I don't think either of them should have won. If I'm being completely honest. What do you thought? Y'all ain't watched the movie. Ethan Hawk in the blue moon. Okay, yeah. Go watch it. Ethan Hawk was absolutely stellar. And he had these two-page long monologues that he did. How about the Abafter winner?

SPEAKER_02

Who was that again?

SPEAKER_04

The Baptist win, uh the dude that won for I Swear. Yeah. It was the the Tourette's one. Everybody knows about the Tourette's dude that showed up to Yeah. He was he was fucking amazing. I I my review for I Swear on Letterboxd, literally Baptist, I will never judge your judgment ever again. Because I need to watch that. Y'all love to glaze, you know, the you know, the British people when it comes to the British shows. But, you know, and I was butthurt that Timmy or anybody else didn't get that. And it was somebody who wasn't nominated any of the other shows. But I watched the film Loki, he was fire. He was super duper fire. I need to watch that for sure still. Yeah, I haven't seen the one.

SPEAKER_05

But honestly, if we're going back to MBJ and him winning the Oscar, people just praise him because he played. Oh no, that's not no. You know who has played two different roles?

SPEAKER_04

Robert Pattons.

SPEAKER_05

Robert Pattinson in the 17th. And you know how great he was? He was he was amazing.

SPEAKER_02

He was I thought he did better than Michael B.

SPEAKER_04

Jordan low-key. Thank you. Thank you.

SPEAKER_02

If Michael B. Jordan only played one dude, he still had a better performance than Timothy. No. Yes, he did. No. Absolutely. Absolutely. Bro, hit his face, his face alone. Every time there's a scene with him, yeah, I actually believe what he's saying. But like whenever it shows Timothy's face, he has like the same like face structure. No, uh, no matter if it's like a happy scene or a sad scene, the look on his face looks the exact same. Him crying in the end, it looked really fake to me. I did not I didn't believe it. I did not believe him crying in the end. I didn't believe it. That scene alone should be a few. His delivery last year was mid and Marty Sithon. Michael B. Jordan had better, better delivery for sure. No, bro. Yes, for sure.

SPEAKER_04

My opinion is completely invalid. I already told y'all who I thought should the guy who should have won, it wasn't even in there. But I I even the guys that were in there, somebody besides them too should have won. But all right, all right. We're gonna go keep it. Alright, we got one through one full round, nobody broke. Okay, that's a good sign.

SPEAKER_02

We're kind of we kind of already talked about this, but I think right now Timothy Chalamet is the most overrated actor right now, for sure. Most maybe not all the time, but right now the most overrated. Explain why he is a forced movie star. The the the movies that he's in, it it brings money, but it's not because of him. It's because, yeah, concept. Dune part one and part two made good money, it's not because of him. His acting-I don't think anybody's seen it's because of him. His acting is just okay at best. He shouldn't have been nominated for Marty Supreme.

SPEAKER_04

Mind you, he hasn't watched The Complete Unknown, which he played Bob Dylan, dedicated seven years of his life too.

SPEAKER_02

You weren't even mad that he lost for that, though.

SPEAKER_04

I wasn't because he he low-key didn't. If we're talking 2024 Oscars, Coleman Domingo scene you should have gotten, yeah. Absolutely. Um that's besides the point. I I actually have a hot take on that.

SPEAKER_02

Right now, Timothy's the most overhead actor right now. That's where I but I I figured it wouldn't make you our brain because we already talked about it.

SPEAKER_05

You don't know his filmography, that's why. No, it's still bad. You're not tapped in. You haven't watched Have you watched Call Me by Your Name? No, but I still have a little woman, beautiful boy. Okay, bones and all? Sync clips. See, exactly. You're you're why do you like him so much?

SPEAKER_02

He's so good.

SPEAKER_05

Your take is invalid. You haven't even watched though. The only performances you have watched from him are what, like Interstellar and the Doom movies and Marty Supreme?

SPEAKER_04

That's it?

SPEAKER_02

You haven't seen any of his romance movies. It's okay though. But I I've seen clips and it's it looks like the same, it looks like the same thing.

SPEAKER_04

All right.

SPEAKER_02

Serious, bro?

SPEAKER_04

Oh my gosh, dude. That's actually ridiculous. I'm gonna go a little spicy

DiCaprio Takes Spark The First Beans

SPEAKER_04

on this one. I think we need to kick it up a notch. Uh oh. Leonardo DiCaprio is overrated. I was waiting for that. I was waiting for that.

SPEAKER_02

I figured it was coming, but it's absolutely not true. Hear me out. Hear me out.

SPEAKER_04

Leonardo DiCaprio is not overrated because he's a bad actor. Everybody thinks that's what I fucking mean. No, he's not. He is genuinely fantastic and a handful of stuff. Actually, no, he's good in everything. He's good in everything. Let's just get that out of the bag. But he's not like he's not the best fucking actor out there. And personally, I think there's only a good five or six movies where he genuinely just plays somebody different. Like our name. Like, okay. The Revenant, one is Oscar for it, completely different, right? What's Eating Gilbert Great? Debatably his best performance. Yeah, I'd say so. Killers of the Flower Moon.

SPEAKER_02

Amazing five out of five. Five out of five.

SPEAKER_04

What's what's his most recent? One battle after another?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, amazing out there.

SPEAKER_01

Those are all the same?

SPEAKER_04

No, I'm saying those are the ones that are outside. Okay, what are the same ones? The same one. Wolf of Wall Street, he's great in it. But I I think him and Wolf of Wall Street is the same as him and fucking Great Gatsby.

SPEAKER_02

You're only saying that because both are rich. That's the only reason you're saying that. He plays rich the same way. How could he play? No. Am I lying? No, no, no. No, no, no. In the Great Gatsby, he played a heartbroken person. The Wolf of Wall Street, he he was not heartbroken at all.

SPEAKER_04

But you're nitpicking it. What I'm saying is the genuine.

SPEAKER_02

I'm basically talking about his performance. How is that nitpicking though?

SPEAKER_04

I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_02

How did he play money the same way, but they're but they're completely opposite characters.

SPEAKER_04

You put on the Wolf of Wall Street, you put on the Great Gatsby in the same room, watching you're watching the same fucking person. Alright, so what about Catch Me If You Can? Catch Me If You Can, He's good. It's not up there with like his best performances, but he's good. But you want to say it's different. It's not similar? No. No. Hmm. I mean it's wrong, but it's fine. Titanic? Yes. I think Titanic is an overrated performance of his. He's good. He's good. Don't come for me.

SPEAKER_02

How about Django?

SPEAKER_04

Don't even hate it. That's one of his best. That's one of his best. Leo and Django is one of his movies.

SPEAKER_02

How about Blood Diamond?

SPEAKER_04

Blood Diamond is the same, Lil' Key.

SPEAKER_01

How about the departed?

SPEAKER_04

That's that's That's one of my go-to movies. But Leo, I'm not gonna lie, you don't stick out to me in that, man. You don't. You're a phenomenal actor, okay? It's just, I'm sorry, like I can name five actors that I prefer watching all of you. Name them right now or all time right now. All time. Name them right now. Okay. Y'all ain't ready for that, though. Name them right now.

SPEAKER_00

Name them.

SPEAKER_04

Daniel DeLewis, Marlon Brando, Christian Bale, Joaquin Phoenix, Ryan Gosling, aka mean.

SPEAKER_02

You have Ryan Gosseling over Leonardo DiCaprio.

SPEAKER_04

You have Ryan Gossel over Leonardo DiCaprio.

SPEAKER_02

I do. Oh, you do not. His variety is not there. Ryan Gossling does not do that. That's a being a good thing. Do y'all think that Ryan Gossling is ever gonna be an Oscar winner? Ever.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. No, no, absolutely.

SPEAKER_05

He definitely deserves some.

SPEAKER_02

He's not even getting nominated for Project El Mary, probably. We're gonna come back to that.

SPEAKER_04

That's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_02

That is a little ridiculous. He was good. He does not touch Leo. Ryan Gossling's versatility is pretty low. And Leo's versatility is high. Y'all are absolutely, you're out of your mind.

SPEAKER_04

I don't think I am.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know. His versatility is low compared to Leo's, yeah. But what would you say about his versatility overall? Mid.

SPEAKER_02

Well, Daniel Day Lewis's versatility, that's like high. Walking Phoenix, high. Ryan Gosling, like his versatility, not his acting, but like his versatility is not all there. But just because he is, but just because he can do different genres doesn't mean that his acting is as good as the other ones that you just named.

SPEAKER_04

His versatility is so much high. Call me when Leonardo DiCaprio is on a musical. Yes. Yeah. He's what does that prove though?

SPEAKER_05

What does that prove? Versatility right there. That's right.

SPEAKER_02

Ryan Gosling has done more versatility. It was good in La La Land, but but I'm pretty sure Leo could have done better. No. Y'all are out of your mind. Y'all are out of your mind. You haven't seen it. Oh my. It's not really great. That's so good. That's such a good idea. That's such a good mind.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, that's such a good beat.

SPEAKER_02

That's so good for y'all.

SPEAKER_05

Have you watched Drive?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_05

Drive is The Place Beyond the Pines? Drive is one of the most.

SPEAKER_02

So because I haven't seen two movies of someone's filmography, nice guess is completely invisible. He was great in the notebook. I'm not calling him a bad actor, but his versatility is just not up there. He was okay in that.

SPEAKER_04

Alright. I'm gonna thug it out with them. Take your bean, bro. Take your bean. No, I'm gonna thug it out with them because I low key just lost my shit there. You watch Stay?

SPEAKER_02

Watch what?

SPEAKER_04

Huh? Have you watched Stay? Remember the Titans?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I've seen that one.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. I got. What the fuck is this? That's yellow, bro. It's a wet dog. Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna get wet dog. I don't even like banana, bro.

SPEAKER_04

What do you have?

SPEAKER_02

I think that's bar. It's bar for peach. GG's. Alright. But I could not have not broke on that one, so finally taking the L.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, let me get the trash skin ready, bro. Peach. Wow. Oh my goodness. Let's go. This has been robbery.

SPEAKER_02

Let's fucking go, man.

SPEAKER_05

This has been gauge.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that tastes good.

SPEAKER_04

What does it taste like? Does it taste like I ain't no bitch?

SPEAKER_05

Does it taste like a dog licking you? What does it taste like? I gotta know, bro. I gotta Oh, I smell it.

SPEAKER_04

I couldn't even tell you what it tastes like. Bro, that smells like a little dog. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02

I'm so glad that I got peach. You don't smell. That's what you get for saying that take, by the way.

SPEAKER_04

Dude, that smells like dog poop, bro. Here's the here okay, okay. Here's the thing. Biting into it, I thought it was bad, but when I got to the end.

SPEAKER_00

That's it.

SPEAKER_04

I can't tell. I low-key might have gotten banana. No, you don't smell it. It smells like a freaking dog fart. I don't know. What's it taste like? What did it taste? He doesn't even know what it tastes like. I couldn't describe it. I really can't. Because there was a sweetness to it at the end. Bro, oh no, bro. Do I prefer that one?

SPEAKER_02

Dude.

SPEAKER_05

You haven't even watched Half Nelson, huh?

SPEAKER_02

Bro, stop fucking naming movies, bro. I thought we were past this already, bro.

SPEAKER_04

No, bro.

unknown

What the fuck?

SPEAKER_04

Your turn.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Well, it's your turn to name one, right? Oh no, no, I don't know what my function.

The Dark Knight War Begins

SPEAKER_04

What did you name? Leo's overrated.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah, that's that is a big one. That's crazy. Oh, you know what? The Dark Knight's overrated.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so I'm not sure. I know you have this opinion, please, but you never give me reasons why, though.

SPEAKER_04

Here I am. You never give reasons why. Here I am on my list. I literally have The Dark Knight is the best comic book movie of all time.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, let's go!

SPEAKER_04

It's not. Spider-Man. Spider-Man 2 is way better than Dark Knight. I'm not mad at that. I'm not. I just disagree. But what's overrated about the Dark Knight 2? Dude, okay. He thinks Heath Ledger carries the whole thing. Besides Heath Ledger's performance, bro, it's just not a good movie, man.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, it's an entertaining movie. I have it as a three and a half, maybe a four on Letterboxd. Five out of five. But dude, the way y'all glazed that movie is actually. No, but you're not naming what is overrated about Batman is better. I think so. I think so. But what is overrated about the Dark Knight? It's just like the st the whole story behind it and like It's a bad story to you? The ending.

SPEAKER_02

When he goes away? Yeah, it's like you don't like that? No, bro. But it sets up. The Dark Knight Rise is so good though.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, I guess, but like, bro, I don't know. This it's just like the way y'all overhype it and say it that it's better than most comic book like this. It's not just us though. That's nine out of ten people on the switch. That's why I hate it so much because half more than half of the population is overrating it.

SPEAKER_02

And it's actually ridiculous. This is not even a take I have on here. The Dark Knight is better than any Marvel movie ever. Ever.

SPEAKER_05

We're talking about Marvel or MCU? Marvel.

SPEAKER_02

Anything.

SPEAKER_05

I agree. Are we including are we including Across and Insu?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. I am.

SPEAKER_05

I am. I am. He's bro.

SPEAKER_02

I am.

SPEAKER_05

Come on, guys. I am. He's saying the I love those movies. They're not the Dark.

SPEAKER_03

The Dark Knight is better than Across and Insy the Spider Man.

SPEAKER_04

The Dark Knight flows so perfectly. I forgot about the Spider-Verse movies list. Thank you. I didn't say I agreed though. Oh my gosh, dude. Oh bro.

SPEAKER_05

The Dark Knight neck and neck. Live action. I got Spider-Man 2 and possibly Spider-Man 1. I love Spider-Man 1. And the Batman. And the Batman Robert Pattinson's The Batman.

SPEAKER_04

Y'all are both fucking nuts for that. How? The Dark Knight is way better than the Batman. Way better? Way better.

SPEAKER_02

Pattinson's a better Batman. He is. Pattinson's a better Batman. He is. Stop it, bro. Based off that one movie alone?

SPEAKER_04

One movie. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, Christian Bale is a better actor, but as Batman, it's Pattinson, bro. Christian Bale is.

SPEAKER_05

Hey, I'm not gonna lie. As an actor, that man Pattinson. It's 50-50, dude.

SPEAKER_04

You take Pattinson over uh Christian Bale? That's close though. Pattinson has some phenomenal performance lately. No, no slander on my Robert Pattinson. He's up there. He's one of my favorites. Odyssey. Christian Christian Bale, he got it. He got it, dude. But not easily though. Easily to me. Easily? Easily to me. I mean, he did just name him in his top five, bro. I ranked him over fucking Leonardo DiCaprio.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you're you're insane for that, man. And beanboozle thought that you were insane for that. Not me. Okay. Wait, is it my turn, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's your turn.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

Deadpool Wolverine And Classic Overrated Picks

SPEAKER_02

This one I don't think is gonna make you outbreak. This is kind of a mid one, but Deadpool and Wolverine. 10 out of 10 theater experience. The movie is trash.

SPEAKER_04

10 out of 10 theater experience? No. I don't give it a 10 out of 10 theater experience. I give it a cool 7 out of 10.

SPEAKER_05

I bro, the theater experience.

SPEAKER_04

Way better, way better.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, I'm not saying it's better. I'm not saying it's like the best of all time. I think I saw it with like three friends. I think we're all having a great time.

SPEAKER_04

I think Deadpool and Wolverine aged poorly. I don't think it's trash. I don't think it's trash.

SPEAKER_02

It's such a mess. And it's not even that funny. It's such a mess.

SPEAKER_04

It's not great, but it's not like it's not terrible.

SPEAKER_02

And they're dragging the Thor crying, bro. No one gives a fuck why Thor was crying. But fucking Ryan Reynolds showing up showing up in that Deadpool costume at Comic Con trying to trying to make people remember. Hold on, why is Thor crying? Bro, no one cares. That movie is just cameos. But but the actual story, trash. The story was so bad. The setting was bad.

SPEAKER_04

Compared to the rest of the Marvel movies up to that.

SPEAKER_02

The setting was in like a sand desert. Who cares what happened in that movie?

SPEAKER_04

Hey, this is a very low bar, but it's still one of the better MCU movies post-endgame. It's a very low bar, but. Huh? Was it MCU or just Marvel movies? It's MCU.

SPEAKER_02

I mean it's the best. I mean it's the worst Deadpool movie. We agree with that, right? Yeah. Okay, good.

SPEAKER_04

The worst? The worst Deadpool movie. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Not saying it's bad. It's just it's the y'all got two movies. I'm saying it's bad. Y'all have two easily. Easily.

SPEAKER_02

Easily, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

If we're not mistaken, two is the one with the chubby kid, right? Yeah. Y'all are taking that. Yes. Oh my gosh. I don't know about that one, man.

SPEAKER_02

Bro, Hugh Jaguaman coming out of retirement for that mid-movie. It's not mid. He's the perfect casting for Wolverine, too.

SPEAKER_04

He is, he is.

SPEAKER_02

But like that movie itself. Bad. Wow. A nice Deadpool and a Lady Deadpool. Like, who gives a fuck about those people? It's just done.

SPEAKER_04

I think the big thing for me with that movie a lot of it was just straight up humor directed at fourth wall break. Like like uh like Ryan Gosling's personal life, Hugh Jackman's personal life, shit like that. I don't think anybody really gives a fuck. I'm sorry. Like, make jokes about any anything else. I don't care. You said Ryan Gosling's personal life? Oh, I mean Ryan Reynolds' personal life. Just making a bunch of jokes of like, oh yeah, didn't she just get divorced? Shit like that. Like, I that's not funny to me. I'm not gonna that's that may be funny to some 40-year-old moms out there who keep who you know keep in touch with us. The first one was a good time, though. But first one's a good time. I like the second one too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't like the second one. I'm not gonna Okay. Ready for another overrated take of mine? Yeah, let's hear it. Forrest Gump is overrated. Yo, that's actually kind of ridiculous. Ask nine out of ten.

SPEAKER_02

Why do you No, no, no, no. Why do you always do nine out of ten, bro? Stop fucking saying nine out of ten. I'm holding you to that.

SPEAKER_04

That's another break. Oh, hold on. Hold on. Explain yourself first. Explain yourself. Ask the nine out of ten people on the street what their favorite movie is, and nine out of ten people are going to say forest gump. And I completely disagree. Nine out of ten people are not gonna say forest gump is their favorite movie. Okay, hold on. Expand on why it's overrated. Name one bad thing. Forrest Gump is a great movie. Oh my god. It's amazing. It's amazing. I love that movie. It's not warranted to be. It's not warranted to be in somebody's top five. I'm sorry. You when you got movies like the Shaw Shank Redemption out there.

SPEAKER_02

But name something bad about stop mentioning other movies. Name something bad about that movie.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yes, yes. What's overrated about it? What's overrated?

SPEAKER_02

The pacing. Amazing. It has romance, war, action, has everything in it. Iconic scenes.

SPEAKER_04

I don't think I said that the movie's that. The movie is overrated. It's crowded. There's very minimal things wrong with it. I just personally, I don't think it should be in everybody's top five. Are we including this as a war movie? What more movie? That's what I'm saying. What war movies are you taking over this day? Saving Private Ryan. You don't believe that. Easily? Easily.

SPEAKER_05

Easily better than Forrest Gump. The only war movie I could think of that I'm taking over it right now is Full Metal Jacket. That's the only one that's gonna be. Full Metal Jacket I take to.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_05

I'm taking Full Metal Jacket over it, but that's the only one I could think of. But what is bad about Forrest Gump? Forrest Gump is fire. We agree. Forrest Gump is good. Forrest Gump is.

SPEAKER_04

I watched it maybe three times in my life. I never felt the need to watch it again. I see clips of-three times. And I liked it each time. I just never been compelled to watch it again.

SPEAKER_02

It's better than the strongest.

SPEAKER_04

Mind you, I did a I in my theater class in sophomore year, we did a showcase. I did the monologue that Forrest does too. Because I whenever he's at the grave and he's crying, I did that monologue because I was fresh off that movie. I liked it, not gonna lie, but it aged poorly with me. Not because it's bad. It's just I don't I think everybody's Bubble Gump came out of that movie. It's essentially your opinions on the Dark Knight.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, but this one's different, bro, because Forest Gump's actually good. The Dark Knight's not. But anyways, Dark Knight's not even good to you. It's blasphemy. It's cool. It's cool. But Forrest Gump has probably one of the most tormenting love stories I've ever heard about in a movie. And it's just like so tearing in the journey that he goes on, the adventure, it adds everything, all the elements of what has happened throughout the past. Like that's that pacing is wrong.

SPEAKER_04

Forrest Gump isn't even Robert Semeckis' best movie. What's his best moving? What other movie does he have? I don't even know if this is his best movie, but it's a movie I take over Forrest Gump. What? Castaway.

SPEAKER_01

You're taking Castaway over Forrest Gump? You don't believe that. That's actually.

SPEAKER_04

You do not believe that.

SPEAKER_02

You do not believe that. What about Castaway is better? Tom Hanks' performance is for sure not better in Castaway.

SPEAKER_04

That's two breaks, ladies and gentlemen. That is two.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no, no, no, no. This is just one long, continuous one. Okay, Castaway is ridiculous.

SPEAKER_05

I would get if you say Back to the Future, but Castaway is freaking out of the way.

SPEAKER_04

What did I tell y'all about my movie taste? I am a sucker for them gritty dramas. Castaway is such a gritty ass drama. I am a sucker for it. I love it. And Forrest Gump, it's got its serious moments. Would you say Tom Hanks' performance in Castaway was better than him in Forrest Gump? No, I'm not gonna go. Okay, good, good. I'm not that fucking crazy, okay? But I don't think that Tom Cruise, or not Tom, Tom Hanks, from what I remember who was nominated that year, I don't think he should have won. I'm about to look this up right now. While I do that. Pop your fucking bean. Yeah, you you you got just one, though. I'm not doing two.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, take one, take one, man. What is that? Sinky socks or two to fruity? Or what do you have? Try it, man. If he gets another good one, two. No way. This guy's two for two right now. Are you serious?

SPEAKER_04

What is that one?

SPEAKER_02

It tastes like though. Oh no, I'm gonna get it.

SPEAKER_04

Best picture. Forrest Gump beat Pulp Fiction, the Shaw Shank fucking ridiculous. Okay, that was a stacked year. I remember that. Yeah, that's kind of ridiculous.

SPEAKER_05

Forrest Gump's better. No, it's not.

SPEAKER_02

Forrest Gump's better than the Shaw Function. It's not better than Pulp Fiction is good. It's for sure better than Pulp Fiction. No, it's not. For sure better than Pulp Fiction. The whole boxing shit in Pulp Fiction, who cares about that? The whole boxing thing where they gotta like put nothing in his heart. It's black and white. Yeah, who cares about that part?

SPEAKER_04

Dude, Pulp. Bro, that's essential storyline right there.

SPEAKER_02

It's not better than Forrest Gump. Oh my god. No. Alright, that's kind of ridiculous.

SPEAKER_04

That's fucking crazy. Future is better than Forrest Gum. No. Yes, it is. That's that's Robert Semechis too. Yeah, yeah. So yeah, Forrest Gump is not Robert Semeckis' best movie. It's not the second best, though. Back to the Future. I don't have Castaway over. The first Back to the Future? Yes, okay. No. The first one's the best one out of the three.

SPEAKER_05

No, it's not. What's the best one out of the three? Three. No, it's one of the one out of the three. Yeah, that's very bad. All right. That's actually still dumb. Okay. So The Dark Knight, I did say it's overrated, but it's not the most overrated movie of all time.

Parasite Backlash And Stricter Volume Rules

SPEAKER_05

The most overrated movie of all time is Parasite. That comes from you with Greece. You're brave. You're brave. I'm tired of hearing about Parasite this, Parasite that.

SPEAKER_04

Like, who's still talking about Parasite these days? It's go. You'll be surprised. There's a lot of people. Are you still? Here's the thing. I totally agree. Parasite should not be. Parasite should not be everybody's like best movie to come out in the last 20 years. It's not that's crazy. Was it really good though? It was fantastic. I saw it in the theater.

SPEAKER_02

I saw it at home, but no.

SPEAKER_04

But like the whole what beat it for Best Picture? Or no, what did it beat for Best Picture? Well, what's up, Gauge?

SPEAKER_02

How could it have been better, you think?

SPEAKER_05

Dude, like the whole adding each character into the household and stuff, like that was cool. And then it just the story just like I feel like just prolongs for like more than it should have been. Parasite is pretty long.

SPEAKER_02

That like clockwise and counterclockwise shit on the couch. That was weird. That was weird as fuck.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, like I hate how he just went on a killing spree and just killed everyone off, and it was just like, oh my gosh, dude.

SPEAKER_04

Parasite beat. Okay, I'm gonna go in Ford versus Ferrari, which okay, yeah. The Irishman. That was Samuel. Yeah. Jojo Rabbit, why the fuck is it in there? Joker.

SPEAKER_02

Fire.

SPEAKER_04

Little Women. I'll take Marriage Story over here.

SPEAKER_02

I'm taking Marriage Story over Parasite. I love Mary Story. I fucking love Mary's story.

SPEAKER_04

I'll take Little Woman and Mary Story over. I'm taking 1917 low-key. That's not crazy. I'm not taking it pretty far. And Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

SPEAKER_02

I love Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

SPEAKER_04

Are you serious? It beat Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I love Once Upon a Time Hollywood. Parasite? I don't even think that's his best movie. Bonjour and Ho? Yes. I have.

SPEAKER_05

What's the similar to Zodiac? What's that movie called? Old Boy? No, no, no. That movie's freaking wild. What's the Memories of Murder? That one.

SPEAKER_04

That movie is fire and it's better than Zodiac. I might be. I might be. I don't even think Old Boy is Bonchoon Ho. I was gonna say, no, that's it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not. Yeah, no, it's not. But I have memories of murder over Hey, don't sleep on Snowpiercer. Snowpiercer is pretty gassed. That one's pretty fire.

SPEAKER_02

Is that Bong Juho?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. That one Chris Evans in the league. Mickey 17.

unknown

Mickey.

SPEAKER_04

I'd say Parasite over Mickey 17. I mean, that's not saying that much. It's not.

SPEAKER_05

But Mickey 17 was definitely a letdown of last year for sure. But the most overrated of all time is Parasite. Yes. Yes, easily. Every single person that I see, they have it in their top five for some reason. What do you rate it? I rate it three and a half. Which is because it's a good movie. It's a good movie, but like people saying five out of five, the curve on Letterboxd is 4.5 out of 5. It's nowhere near 4.5.

SPEAKER_02

I think it deserves that though. No, it does not. But it's so unique. And the the whole Peach Fuzz thing was done so good.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my gosh. It's not, it's so, it's just no. Like, I could have just I I I think I guessed that.

SPEAKER_02

Which horror movies are you taking over?

SPEAKER_05

Which what? Which like recent horror movies are you taking over? Recent horror movies?

SPEAKER_04

Parasiting. Are you taking Nosferatu over? I'm taking Nosferatu probably, yeah. That might be. Is this horror? I don't think it's not it's threatened. It's not horror? No, it's not parasites. Is that horror? I don't think that's horror.

SPEAKER_02

I'm pretty sure it is.

SPEAKER_04

I'm gonna I'm gonna change I'm gonna change up the rules real quick. From this point on, if we get any louder than this, you gotta take a bean. All right. Because I think we're being a little too lenient. All right, all right, bet. All right, well that's that's my hot take right there. So, Gage, do you want to start off the next one?

Best Of The Decade Claims

SPEAKER_02

One battle after another is the best film this decade. Okay. Five out of five. Okay. The acting, mazing track.

SPEAKER_05

Decade as in 2020 till 2020 until now.

SPEAKER_02

One battle after another is better than any movie this decade.

SPEAKER_04

You're looking at a Paul Thomas Anderson Glazer. That is my PTA. I love PTA. I I have to disagree with that.

SPEAKER_02

And PTA put BTA because that movie was fun. No, bro. It introduced. That movie could not have been better. Three hours. Such a good three hour movie. It feels like half of that, in my opinion. But but the whole story of Leo's character and Tiana Taylor, the movie kind of like revolving around her, but but she's only in like the first like fourth or or like third of it. But it's like the whole story revolves around her without her even having to be in the movie, and Leo at the end getting his fucking daughter back. It was just so peaky. I'm a sucker. All the acting was amazing.

SPEAKER_04

I'm a sucker for Tiana Taylor, man. Shout out to the Chase Infinity should have been mad, man. Dude, are you serious right now?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean that yeah.

SPEAKER_04

There's so many other you there's after sun. There's obsession. The Odyssey is bad. Take Obsession over one battle after Obsession? Yes, I'm taking Obsession over. I'm shocking up Teresa Neaker.

SPEAKER_05

I'm taking Sing Sing over it. I'm taking across the Spider-Verse. I'm taking Enora. I'm taking I'm taking the Fable Man's topic Maverick. Enora is fire. No, no, it's just a strip. I'm taking the holdovers over it. I'm taking what else am I taking?

SPEAKER_04

What about the real best movie of the 2020s? Top Gun Maverick. Talk about it. I'm taking Ironclaw over it too. Wow. Wow. Absolutely. I'm taking Ironclaw over it.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

How is it the oh no? No, no, no, no, no. That's a fucking thing. I thought he was broke at the beginning, too. We were about to skip over a point. No, we were literally not to skip over it. No, no, no, no. Okay, hold on. How is it the best of 2020s? You know how many movies came out in the 2020s? Bro, you're ridiculous, bro. No, it's for sure.

SPEAKER_02

I have I have Babylon over it. I love Babylon, but it's not better than one battle after another. Oh my god. It's not better. It's not better. That story is a bit more.

SPEAKER_05

The way you overrate this freaking thing.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, it's not overratable.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my gosh, I'm doing 2D fruity, bro. You have Morty Supreme over it? Oh my gosh. Already smelly. Hold on. Morty Supreme. No. No. After the rewatch? No. Oh my.

SPEAKER_00

That's what you get.

SPEAKER_02

That's what you fucking get, man. No, dude. That's what you get. Bean boozle don't lie. Bean don't lie, man. Bean don't lie.

SPEAKER_04

Damn, whoever has this next one. This looks like. Oh, this is a wet dog.

SPEAKER_05

Bro, that's freaking disgusting, bro.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god. We have to reset it, though. That don't count. You can't put it back in. Yeah, we can. No, you can't.

SPEAKER_01

Why can't we?

SPEAKER_04

No, no, no. You were able to put Oh shit. Okay, never mind. I thought I wasn't able to do it. Oh my gosh, that is freaking disgusting. Okay. My bad.

SPEAKER_02

You're next. Oh yeah?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I did, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, but I named one battle.

SPEAKER_04

Oh shit, that's right. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

He's still recovering.

SPEAKER_04

Bro, that's actually pretty disgusting. Okay.

Wicked Adaptation And Musical Heat

SPEAKER_04

For all my musical fans out there. That's actually gonna be a good one. Wicked part one is the best musical adaptation.

SPEAKER_05

Excuse my language. I don't curse, bro. My bad. That's actually a dumb take, though. That is you didn't let me finish. Musicals? You didn't let me finish. Musicals! You didn't let me finish. Yes, Lolo Land! Lolaland exists! No, no, no.

SPEAKER_04

Lolo Land exists! You're hearing me wrong. No. Best musical adaptation. Loland exists. Oh my gosh, dude.

SPEAKER_05

No, but still, bro, name some musical adaptations. Because I I don't know any right at the top of my show.

SPEAKER_04

Strictly based off Broadway. Wicked Part One is the best one since Chicago, which Chicago came out in 2003. That's a banger. How about Derrick and Hansen? Oh my god. I just got done doing that show. I know what the show's supposed to be. The movie was ass. Of all time? Of all time. No, since Chicago. Y'all ain't let me finish. Wicked Part 1 is the best musical adaptation based on a Broadway show since Chicago. Still, bro, that that's freaking ridiculous.

SPEAKER_02

What's some other good ones that came out?

SPEAKER_04

I don't know, bro. I don't watch musicals on the bottom. Y'all don't watch Broadway adaptation. Like no. Broadway did a show based off the movie, so that's not no.

unknown

Bro.

SPEAKER_04

Y'all ain't watched My Fair Lady. Seeing in the Rain ain't a Broadway show, but that that's before Chicago.

SPEAKER_05

Seeing in the Rain is fire.

SPEAKER_04

It's fire.

SPEAKER_05

Wicked's amazing.

SPEAKER_04

Wicked part one. Wicked one.

SPEAKER_05

Wicked one was so garbage, I didn't even want to touch the Wicked 2. That movie is freaking first. The acting's goaded. No, bro. Oh my gosh. Don't even get me on.

SPEAKER_04

Don't get me started on those two actresses, too. They pissed me off, bro.

SPEAKER_02

But just because of a bad press tour doesn't mean that the movie's bad. Dude, I don't want this flavor. I'm taking this blue one. I'm taking this blue one. Shit, pre-com.

SPEAKER_05

What the f toothpaste. Oh, toothpaste? Love it. Yeah, I'm taking that blue one, bro. This one keeps on popping up the top, bro. That is freaking ridiculous, bro. Well, can you finish this take? Wicked. As soon as he started talking, I was like, oh, here we go, bro. I knew this was gonna turn my hands on the phone.

SPEAKER_04

For all of my musical theater fans out there that know ball, I think this is a universally accepted answer. Not of all time. Wicked is not the best musical adaptation of all time. I believe Chicago is. But it's the best sense of Chicago. Part two is pretty mid. Part two is pretty mid. Part one is pretty much. We're talking strictly part one. If part two is mid, that means part two must be really garbage, then because it's not part one was mid.

SPEAKER_00

It's not it's part one wasn't even mid.

SPEAKER_04

Wasn't even we could shouldn't like part one was so pique, but part two just showed that it didn't need to be two movies. Oh my god. Or it could have been a three-hour epic, if anything. Three-hour epic. Yeah. Oh my gosh,

Coco Pixar Rankings Go Nuclear

SPEAKER_04

man. Coco is not a top 10 Pixar movie. Oh, oh, oh.

SPEAKER_05

Coco is not a top 10 Pixar movie in some really light light waters here. And I'm not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_02

Why did you have to name that fucking movie out of all the movies?

SPEAKER_05

Because it's the most overrated Pixar movie, too.

SPEAKER_02

What's overrated about it?

SPEAKER_05

You want me to name the movie?

SPEAKER_02

Don't compare it to other fucking movies. You want me to name the movies I have in front of it? No. All 10? No, no, I don't. I don't. No, no, but name bad things about the movie.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, so Coco, it's alright.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, I'm just gonna say it's alright. The story, the plot twist and everything, it's not even the strong, it's not strong at all, I'd say.

SPEAKER_05

I can't tell you being serious. I'm I'm being so serious. This might be Rage Bailey. So you're being serious. No, it's not strong at all. I kinda, even as a kid, I kind of I like guessed it while watching it. I'm not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_04

I have a certain okay, so Coco, I love, I think it is a top 10 Pixar movie. Debatably top five. Debatably.

SPEAKER_05

No. Top five? It's kind of ridiculous.

SPEAKER_04

This puts it in perspective though. This is what Coco is why I have such a big beef with the greatest showman. Because why are we bringing the greatest showman? Because I blew on the chance to watch that masterpiece to go watch the shapebox of the greatest showman.

SPEAKER_05

I will take Coco over the greatest showman.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

I know that's your favorite movie, Gage, but like I'm used to the hate. No, Coco is absolutely not even top ten. And y'all saying top five is actually ridiculous. I'm sure top five. No, it's not. Better than Ratatouille? Yes. Better than Monsters Inc. Yes. Better than Wally? I'm kind of getting into my hot take right now. Like we're kind of getting into my hot take. Let's go.

SPEAKER_01

Let me let me hear. Let me hear. Coco is better than the following. Coco is better. Oh my gosh, dude. Than all the cars movies. Monsters Inc., all the toy stories, stop Wally, up all the toy stories is crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Aladdin, Incredibles, Fani Nero, and the Aladdin's Aladdin is Coco is better than all those Disney movies. Coco is top two, and it's not number one.

SPEAKER_05

This man just this man just said Ratatouille.

SPEAKER_02

Coco is better than Up, Carz, Toy Story, all of that stuff. It's better than all of the visuals, the story, amazing. The way they encaptured Mexico into that movie, I thought was so perfect. It's funny and heartbreaking, and the whole movie comes back to Coco at the end of it, man. The plot twist and the they think that he turned on his family, but really he was poisoned. Bro, it's such a good plot twist. And just because you predict a plot twist does not make it bad.

SPEAKER_05

Bro, nothing about that movie is like emotionally evoking. Like, I Are you serious? Yes. Are you serious? Yes. I don't cry to movies, but that one had no effect on me. Monsters Inc. had more of an effect on me. When he's putting when he's putting that door together because it's all broken pieces and he goes in that door and booze there and he gets to say one more goodbye. That really did it for you. That was way more sad than freaking whatever cut.

SPEAKER_04

I agree, but I still think Coco. Hey man. I still think Coco is collectively as a bad thing. And him saying that it's better than all the Toy Stories is blasphemous. That's actually freaking ridiculous.

SPEAKER_05

And Rider Touie? Yes. Are we gonna skip on?

SPEAKER_04

It's way better than Rider Touie. No, it's not, bro. For sure, but it's way better than Rider 2. Oh my up.

SPEAKER_02

The only up is a depressing ass, not funny movie. That opening scene from counting that is way better than it's gonna be Four Story 3 is a better opening scene than up. No, it's not. The heist? Yes, it is. That train heist, amazing. It's a lot more fun, obviously.

SPEAKER_04

I think I think you're just talking out of your ass. No, no, no, it's for sure. Four story three opening scene. It was just rage baiting. I'm not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_05

Four story three is for sure, bro.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_05

But I think he broke too. I didn't break.

SPEAKER_04

I I heard you shouting. You heard him break as well.

SPEAKER_02

Which part did I break on the whole thing?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's a lie. So you're telling me the only Pixar movie you have above it is University? That's freaking ridiculous, buddy.

SPEAKER_02

This is wet dog or top banana. I have souls over Cocoa Easley, too. Soul's fire.

SPEAKER_04

I like me, a good serious one. I just I don't I disagree with that. It's not better than Coco for sure.

SPEAKER_05

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_05

I told you they're pretty disgusting, dude. I knew you needed a trash can. I don't know why you didn't get a trash bag. I don't know why you didn't get a trash bag. That is actually horrible. It's disgusting.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, that's bad. That was freaking dis Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02

That's what you had? You didn't even know if it was bad.

SPEAKER_05

That's what I'm saying. I think yeah, I think banana is just so garbage.

SPEAKER_02

I hate bananas, bro.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I oh my gosh. Alright. Alright, Rob.

Oscars AI Gangsters Batmen And The Finale

SPEAKER_04

So alright. This is for all my AI heads out there. Brother. I know I'm gonna be treading some light water. Adrian Brody shouldn't have won the Oscars for Best Picture. For Best Actor for the uh the Brutalist. Nope. However, I will not tolerate any slander on his performance. He easily deserved to be nominated. And his performance is not carried by AI. I think that is a completely uh misdirected headline thing by the by the media. Like it's the story is completely twisted. They just used it simply to polish up some of his accent. But 90% of the shit he does in that movie is of his own talent. And I will not tolerate any the only slander I will tolerate is his speech. Fuck it. I already broke.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you for being honest. Hey, I I liked how they incorporated his chewing gum incident in the next uh last year's Oscar. Oh dead deadfish. Oh my gosh, dude. Deadfish is just sushi, bro.

SPEAKER_02

Rotten fish. It should say rotten fish.

SPEAKER_04

Dude, he's getting good ones, bro. Strawberry banana smoothie? Oh my gosh, dude. Y'all are getting lucky, dude.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not gonna lie, 2024 was a week.

SPEAKER_03

It was.

SPEAKER_05

It was it was a weak year.

SPEAKER_04

Timothy Chalamer should have won that Oscar that year too for a complete unknown. Over Adrian Brody easily. I don't think. Who else was he up against?

SPEAKER_01

It wasn't Sing Sing, right?

SPEAKER_05

No, that no, that wasn't Sing Sing. I have it pulled up right now. No. Wasn't coming to me. There was Conclave with uh Ralph Hines. Dang, it will it really wasn't that strong at all that year. I'm telling you, this I mean, your boy Ryan Gossing for Fall Guy. He should have been nominated. I'm not gonna lie. Really? Maybe a golden glow. Dude, are you sure you didn't get a nasty one? Because I smell it, bro, unless one of y'all ported. Nah, you didn't know. I think it's just coming from the bucket, huh?

SPEAKER_04

If y'all can smell what this smells like, it's absolutely horrendous. Yeah, no. It really was not a great year that year. I'm not gonna be able to do that. Shit, yeah. Wasn't Coleman on anything? Coleman, that was the next year. No, that was the year before. Killian Murphy won for Oppenheimer. Yeah. Hey, Sebastian Stan and The Apprentice now. Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. Him playing Donald Trump was really great. It was really, it was a really good play. I didn't I remember when they announced his casting. I had no like Sebastian Stannon's a great, great actor. I don't I don't ever doubt his abilities. But playing Donald Trump, that was something I was not expecting. I was like, okay, I can I can grow into it. I start watching the movie and I'm like, how the fuck does this dude sound just like him? Like he doesn't sound like he's trying too hard like Alec Baldwin on fucking SML or SNL or like all them impersonators, you know? Like he just he genuinely sounded like he became him. And yeah. I don't know if I necessarily feel like he should have won that year. I might still gotta give it to Timmy. But Sebastian Sands should be in the conversation. Yeah. But all right, you just went, it's your turn. I just went for Coco. And then Robbie just went Oh, so it's your turn. Oh, so it's my turn? Okay. The whole gangster mafia realm movies based movies, they're kinda really overrated. This is some rage bait. And repetitive. I'm not mad. No, not mad. They're repetitive. I'm gonna take the L on this one. No, no, no, no. Pretty much besides musicals, gangster movies are debatably the best type of movie to all fight me on it. Hell no. The Godfather. Godfather part two. Goodfellas. Goodfellas is the I'd say like easily the most entertaining one, but besides that, they're all the same. Fucking casino's garbage. The Sopranos. Casino's garbage. Casino's garbage. Oh my god. Casino's not that great. The Sopranos I haven't watched. Sopranos second or third best show of all time, in my opinion. Look, I gotta bias because I'm Italian, okay? But no. Gainster movies are so Black Mask. Fucking Johnny Depp. Starface is one of our most overrated movies of all time, too. Yeah. Me and Ashton went to go watch the re-release. This dude fucking loved it. No, I wouldn't switch it up on it. I don't know. I wouldn't say loved it. I watched it. I watched it. I watched it. He didn't make any of this shit known to me, though. So he he so a switch is flipped.

SPEAKER_05

Nah, it's it's pretty darn overrated. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. What's his name? Is pretty overrated too. Al Pacino is pretty good. Al Pacino? Yeah, him, what's it called? What's that one movie?

SPEAKER_04

Al Pacino is a little bit of an overrated actor, except for The Godfather. So is my Godfather Part 2. Great performance. Al Pacino just likes to be.

SPEAKER_05

If we're talking about versatility, all those freaking mob guys are not like Robert De Niro.

SPEAKER_04

Joe Pesci. Hey, Robert De Niro's got a little bit. They're not versatile. Bro, I hate Raging Bull. That movie is freaking garbage too. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_05

This counts as Raging Bull is ash uh like not good at all.

SPEAKER_04

I was literally like a couple months ago, I it was on my TV and I was watching it, and I was in love with it. Raging Dean.

SPEAKER_02

So I completely agree. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Like I kind of have the same opinion about like Robert De Niro as I do with Leonardo DiCaprio. I'm not gonna lie. Like, I'll I'll I'll slowly lean into your argument a little bit. But Raging Bull is one of those different performances in Robert De Niro. It is. Raging Bull is that scene when he's fucking punching the bare wall with the bare knuckles in the prison, bro. Oh my god. Taxi driver, he's way better in and a way better. That's a more emotionally complex character, though. Bro, Raging Bull is eat your bean, man. Tootie Fruity or stinky socks. Oh, wait, wait, no. Yeah, nah. Y'all, y'all got Tootie Fruity with this one, right? Yeah, I got no, I got stinky socks. It's pretty. I spit mine out. Tutti Fruity.

SPEAKER_05

What the heck, dude? I've never seen I've never seen Beanboozle go that good in a row.

SPEAKER_04

I've never had this look ever with Gage. Alright. Alright, Gage.

SPEAKER_02

Ben Affleck. Oh, brother. Is a better Batman than Christian Bale. I don't think that's crazy, obviously, because I'm the one saying it.

SPEAKER_04

You're a hater on his voice. I think that's the only reason and the fight choreography in The Dark Knight.

SPEAKER_02

The fighting for Ben Affleck's Batman and the suit is also better. The suit's better for Ben Affleck's.

SPEAKER_04

It's all fucking CGI.

SPEAKER_02

Correct me if I'm wrong. No, it's not? No. Not the metal one, not the metal one. Like the normal one that he wears.

SPEAKER_04

I'm talking the fight scenes in the fucking Snyderverse movies with Ben Affleck, all of his action scenes are fucking CGI.

SPEAKER_02

But they're still better. So like who cares if it's CGI was better, though?

SPEAKER_04

They're gonna look more visually appealing, but no, like you want the raw.

SPEAKER_02

But no, it's not just that. Like him as Bruce Wayne, I fully buy like him as Bruce Wayne. He was a great Bruce. Yeah, he was for sure more buff than Christian Bale. So I for sure I for sure bought him as Batman way more than a Christian Bale, but he's not better than Pattinson, though.

SPEAKER_04

Christian Bell is I'm humbling myself over here. I'm assuming Bell is a way better Batman than Ben Affleck. No. Yes, he is.

SPEAKER_02

No, absolutely.

SPEAKER_04

It's not even a debate.

SPEAKER_05

I know it's not a debate. That take is so like not good that it's not even like affecting me. What makes Ben Affleck bad? That's Batman. I wouldn't say he's a warehouse scene.

SPEAKER_04

Warehouse scene, that's all I need to drop. The warehouse scene is goaded. What's wrong about the warehouse? Do you know how many people that dude fucking killed in that warehouse?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. I don't think that's a good one. I don't like Batman killing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But but still, him as Batman, I I believe way more than Christian Bale. That was a that was I don't like him killing, but I mean, come on, man.

SPEAKER_04

That did irreparable damage to it was cool to look at. It's a really cool Batman scene. But as soon as he started murking people, I'm like, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But that fighting scene's better than any fighting scene in the Dark Knight trilogy.

SPEAKER_04

Blueberry or toothpaste? No, it's not. Yes, it is.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely, it's better.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, toothpaste song. Yeah. I need it.

SPEAKER_02

Warehouse scene is so good.

SPEAKER_04

Dude, nah. I mean, I'm not saying Ben Affleck is a bad Batman, but Amazing Batman. His movies are not great. Ben Affleck is I'll go with that.

SPEAKER_02

Well, like he's never had a solo movie, so it's not really good.

SPEAKER_04

Ben Affleck is a bad Batman, but he is a fantastic Bruce Wayne. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I was he a bad Batman.

SPEAKER_04

I just totally aware of that.

SPEAKER_02

How you said it's CGI. CGI is the only thing you said.

SPEAKER_04

And this dude fucking kills people.

SPEAKER_02

That means they kill people. But that's the writing, though. It's not like his portrayal of it's the writing. That's not his fault.

SPEAKER_04

No, it's not.

SPEAKER_02

But Christian Bale's voice, that was his fault because that's his idea.

SPEAKER_04

And Christian Bale's fighting choreography with Christopher Nolan's directing isn't his fault either.

SPEAKER_02

So bad though. So bad. They would have used they would have used CGI, it would have been better.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. This guy. Okay. It's here, Robbie. Okay. This one I don't even think is that hot, but I'm running out of some spicy ones. I think we're getting towards the end here. But Jamie Lee Curtis is one of the worst Oscar wins of all time. For everything, everywhere, all at all. That's not, that's that's mild, bro. But it may be it's a hot take for a lot of people out there, and this needs to be heard. Jamie Lee Curtis, I love you. You're a GOAT in the business. I love me some Halloween movies. What's that one with her and Freaky Freaky Friday? Freaky Friday. Oh brother. Some good nostalgic stuff. I'm sorry, that was a legacy award. Nothing less. You weren't even the best supporting actress in your own movie. Sorry. Shout out Stephanie Shu. Everything everywhere all at once. In my opinion, it's actually an overrated movie, too.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_04

It's kind of ridiculous. Ain't nobody talked about it in the last two years.

SPEAKER_02

No one, no one. You sure about that? No one's talking about it at all.

SPEAKER_04

Dude, I'm not gonna lie. What's it, Michelle Yeo or however you say her last name? She's a goaded actress. She's no, no, she's not. I think she's great. Do I think she deserves to win for everything everywhere all at once? I th that's debatable. I forgot who she was up against. Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, her as an actress. She's her and Wicked. I that's the one bad thing about Wicked. I'm not gonna lie. No, she was right in Wicked. She's so cheap. Her singing voice, bro.

SPEAKER_03

Oh well.

SPEAKER_04

I can't stand I can't stand her to outside. I mean, I try to separate the actresses and the actors and what they do outside, but she's just so annoying to lie. This is the low-keyest stack year. Michelle Yo for Everything Everywhere All at Once beat Kate Blanchett for Tar. Great performance. We watched it together, I think. Nah, I think I was in school for that one, man. Anna J. Armis and Blonde. The uh Marilyn Monroe biopassion. Oh my gosh. Andrea Riseberough for two Leslie. I I haven't seen that. Michelle Williams, the Fable Mans. I think Kate Blanchett easily should have gotten this. Jamie Lee Curtis beat Whoo! This was stacked too. Angela Bassett, Black Panther, Wakanda Forever. Me personally, it wasn't gonna go to it.

SPEAKER_02

She was so mad she lost it.

SPEAKER_04

Han Chow, the whale, great performance. Carrie Condon, Carrie Condon for the Banshees of Anish Iron. Oh, yeah. She should have won. She should have won that easily. And Stephanie Chu everywhere all everything everywhere all at once. Yeah. Yeah. How did Jamie win that? And picture, it beat. All Quiet on the Western Front. Goaded. You should watch it. Avatar the Way of Water. Banshees of Anishiron. Elvis, the Fable Man's Tar Top Gun Maverick, best uh movie of that year. Entire movie, man. Triangle of Sadness, Women Talking. Alright. Yeah, I'm sorry, everything never all at once. You're just uh you're a little overrated for my taste. Good movie. Good movie, but all right. Alright. My next hot take.

SPEAKER_05

We talked about it earlier, a little bit earlier, but I want to resurface it because I want to focus a lot on this. Timothy Chalamet is overhated, and he is the next big big thing. I mean, he already is the big thing, but he will shape Hollywood movies and films later on in the future, and he will win an Oscar. And he's been snubbed multiple times, and I believe that they just hate him because he's just so good at what he does. I agree. They hate him because he's good? Yeah. They hate him because they hate him, bro.

SPEAKER_00

They hate us because they hate us.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, I'm telling you, he should have wanted Marty Supreme. He should have. And there's so few little actors that are A-listers now. Like there's they try to push out some of them, but they don't create the content, they don't create the revenue that he brings to the table. They tried it with Glenn Powell. Where's he at? There's the running man, garbage. Anyone but you? Anyone but you good movie, good performance by him. But he what has what else is? That one was a trash guy.

SPEAKER_04

His momentum fell off. His momentum fell off.

SPEAKER_05

No one's doing it right now like Timothy Chalonet. And literally, anyone, anyone, like any celebrity, I think can agree on that. I I believe he's the next big thing or next big star comparing it to like, oh, the next Leonardo DiCaprio, the next Brad Pitt. He is the next one up front and running out of every actor that's out right now.

SPEAKER_04

I think he definitely has the personal drive for it. You saw it in his uh Screen Actors Guild acceptance speech for um A Complete Unknown. Everybody was getting on his ass for this, and I don't know why. He was people called him conceited, but he was just being humbled by the greats in the room and he was just speaking honest. I would have said the same shit. My personal goal is to be an Oscar-winning actor one day. And if I put years of blood, sweat, and tears into a role just to get snubbed over by somebody who who filmed a movie the pa the past year, I wouldn't, you know, like no disrespect, but I would feel a certain type of way too. And I just say flat out, you know, like thank you for this award, this experience is humbling. I strive to be great. This feels great. I'm not gonna lie. Like this feels like I actually did all that for something. And I don't think that's crazy to say. I don't think he's conceded at all. Um y'all want to go around and give one more? I have one more. Alright, alright, let's hear it.

SPEAKER_05

What are you looking at, man?

SPEAKER_02

Batman versus Superman is better than half of the MCU. Oh, what the fuck? Batman versus Superman is better than half of the MCU. It's not that bad of a movie. I have it as a 7 out of 10. If they would've Oh my god. If they would have nailed Lex Luther and took out Doomsday, that movie would have been so much better. But those are the only two bad parts about that movie. The first half, the build up from the first half to the second half, I think was so good. It showed like them competing about each other. And then the the fighting, I think, was actually a really good interpretation of it. I don't really care about Wonder Woman, but Gal Godot in that movie was not that bad. Dude, that was in Justice League, though. I know, I know, I know. Yeah, yeah. Doomsday was trash in my opinion. And Lex Luthor, I hated his portrayal of Lex Luther.

SPEAKER_04

Mind you, the warehouse scene that I said that ruins Batman or the Bat and Aff like Batman is in that movie. Just to give you some perspective. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm you know better than all the Thor movies. Better than Ragnarok. Yes, it's better than Ragnarok.

SPEAKER_04

It's better than Ragnarok. And you broke it Ragnarok. Yes, it's better than Ragnarok. Yes, no, I broke a while ago. Thor Ragnarok? It's better than Ragnarok. You're freaking ridiculous, bro. You're rage baiting, bro. Retarded, bro. That is actually dumb. Better than No Way Home. Better than Endborn.

SPEAKER_02

I like it more than No Way Home.

SPEAKER_04

Better than Endgame.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. That's an easy one, though.

SPEAKER_01

Better than Thunderbolts.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. Oh my gosh. Thunderbolts is overrated. You can't believe this.

SPEAKER_04

This is fucking rage pain. You're speaking out of your butt right now. Alright, wet dog or banana. Dang, y'all keep on getting that one, man.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's bad. It's bad. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my gosh. Oh my Y'all don't smell it? You don't smell it, Gabe? Oh my gosh. That's so disgusting, bro.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my gosh. Holy crap. This isn't gonna get y'all to break, but this is gonna get me a lot of discourse. Joker 2. Joker folia do.

SPEAKER_02

Of course I've seen two. What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so y'all have okay. We watched it together. I didn't know about it. Joker for Leadu is only a bad movie because of the writing. Because of the writing?

SPEAKER_02

Well, the writing's a big part of the movie.

SPEAKER_04

The writing is a major part of the movie. And I acknowledge that it's bad. But the artist, you're looking at a musical freak right here. When I heard the artistic vision that everything is going to be in his head, a musical featuring Harley Quinn, I was on board. I don't know if I was on board. You watched the trailer. Actually, no, just the movie in general. Some of the shots in it are fucking fantastic. The cinematography is a good thing.

SPEAKER_02

You have it over Batman vs. Superman? Yes. That's crazy. I don't think that's crazy. The score in Batman vs. Superman is way better. Han Zimmer's score in Batman vs. Superman? You said that's the number one thing that you look for in movies. But Han Zimmer's score in Batman vs.

SPEAKER_04

Superman is amazing. I never said it was bad. Anything Han Zimmer hasn't missed a day in his life. But Joker 2 is only a bad movie because of the writing. It's boring. And everybody hates the ending and how they tie it in with the Heath Ledger's Joker. But low-key, I see the vision. I see the vision.

SPEAKER_02

How's it tied in with Heath Legends? You didn't see him in the very end of the state. Spoiler alert if you haven't seen this.

SPEAKER_04

Spoiler if you haven't seen this movie. But as he's laying there dying, you see the dude who stabbed Arthur standing in the back.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I see Ledger?

SPEAKER_04

Yes, he cut it. It wasn't like it's a time. Well, yeah, they allude to his dead, obviously, but they allude because he he he cuts a smile on his face.

SPEAKER_02

I did not know that.

SPEAKER_04

If for those of you who don't know, that was the original, not exactly, but the original ending of the first Joker movie was to have Joaquin instead of doing this, he cuts his mouth and reveals that he's fucking Heath Ledger's Joker.

SPEAKER_02

I'm glad they changed that.

SPEAKER_04

But Christopher Nolan said no, I'm not about to change that. I'm not about to hinder his legacy with that. But Joker 2. I don't know if he signed off on it. I don't want you know to put anything out there. I'm just saying they did it with this movie. And I low-key like it the way that they did it better than just having like the fact that Heath Ledger was inspired by somebody broken. I like that concept. I don't know why. I think people were just sensitive because yes, Heath Ledger is a beloved actor. He's long gone. One of the best comic book portrayals performances ever. The best. Heartless, man. No, I mean I'm looking at it in a logical perspective. I I genuinely like it. The writing in Jokerfolia Do is terrible.

SPEAKER_02

A lot of the music setting is also bland, though. I it's bland like a courthouse and jail are like the only two settings courthouse and jail.

SPEAKER_04

Then you'd hate movies that are based on plays, bro. There's movies out there. Shout out Blue Moon. I talked about it earlier with Ethan Hawk. The entire thing takes place in a bar. This is a Joker movie. You're capable of making a good movie in one setting. This was yes, there was two or three settings. But I was intrigued. Again, I'm a sucker for a musical, but I saw the movie. Yes. What? I do. I acknowledge it's bad, but because it's it's got some really shitty writing. Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga's Joaquin, he's fucking Joaquin Phoenix. Yeah, he is. I have Joaquin in my top five for sure. He he's up there. But yeah, that's that's where I'm gonna end line. But that's what we're gonna cap it off tonight, y'all. Thank you guys so much for watching. We check out our website, link in the description.
